Overview

We are looking for a sharp, curious, and motivated backend developer to join our growing team. You'll be working with a dev team that has experience in startups and at companies like Microsoft, Boeing, Yammer, and Nintendo. You'll have direct input into the product we're building and take ownership of the code you write. We're a small team, so your input on tools and technologies will strongly shape the future of our company.

Job Description

• Build and maintain the backend services

• Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from project leads, PMs, designers and other engineers

• Pro-actively enhance the backend services

• You write secure code and are aware of security best practices

• You write unit tests and automation tests for the features that you build

• Create various backend apis

• Maintain database schemas and queries

Tech requirements

• Experience with Typescript

• Experience with Node.js and Express

• Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL

• Experience with Git version control systems

• Experience with Lucid ORM

• Experience with Redis

• Experience with PostgreSQL

• Experience with Amazon AWS and/or Microsoft Azure

Some things we consider critical

• You write understandable code with an eye towards maintainability, security and scalability.

• You are a strong communicator. Explaining complex technical concepts to product managers, designers, and other engineers is no problem for you.

• You write unit tests and automation tests for the features that you build.

• You help giving feedback on code reviews and debugging sessions

Bonus points

• 4+ years experience developing backend services

• Experience with multiple backend frameworks

• Experience with multiple database systems

• Experience with multiple cloud platforms

• Experience in small startup environments
